Job summary

A regional health authority in Winnipeg is looking for a qualified Labour and Delivery Nurse. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Experience
  • Minimum two (2) years recent high risk Labour and Delivery experience and/or L.D.R.P. nursing experience required.
  • Minimum two (2) years recent experience in perioperative nursing in Labour and Delivery required.
  • Charge Nurse experience required.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current CRNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
  • Annual BLS Level C Registration/Re-Registration is required.

NOTE: Successful completion and on-going renewal of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Demonstrated effective organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking/problem-solving, leadership and decision-making skills in response to a variety of simultaneous demands required.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability required.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, experience, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority.
