Job description
Overview

The Client Care Specialist is the Credit Counselling Society's (CCS) first point of contact for clients who call in seeking help with their finances. Bilingual fluency in English and French is required; fluency in other languages is an asset. This position is based in Ontario and follows an Eastern Time Zone schedule.

This role is an ambassador for the organization, building trust with clients and offering an empathetic and calming presence during challenging circumstances. You will use active listening skills to ensure you provide the appropriate resources and supports for each client.

You will use your judgment to determine how to best help the client, easing concerns and connecting them with a Credit Counsellor when appropriate, or other resources where applicable. Regardless of background, you will receive training and support to help clients with their initial questions regarding their financial situation. The role also includes handling online inquiries, reaching out to clients who have asked us to contact them, and completing administrative tasks to support the client journey with CCS.

What We Have To Offer

The starting salary range for this role is $39,156 - $46,150, which may fluctuate based on geography and prior education and experience.

In addition, CCS offers an annual salary review process each January, with regular increases subject to meeting established performance objectives.

CCS is proud to be a Great Place to Work. We offer a close-knit team environment, work-life balance with a 35 hour work week and generous time-off provisions, a safe and respectful workplace, and opportunities for remote or hybrid work with team chat groups and culture-building activities.

Our employee experience and compensation package includes:

  • A comprehensive health and wellness benefits package, including $850/year for prescription coverage; $3,150/year Health Spending Account; $300/year Wellness Spending Account; and $300/year myFlex benefit allocated between health and wellness spending accounts (prorated in the first year).
  • Long-term savings program with employer matching (up to 5% in the first 5 years).
  • Educational reimbursements (up to $2,500/year).
  • Three weeks vacation to start, plus 3 CCS days and 6 Sick/Personal Days per year (paid leave prorated in the first year).
  • Paid days off for personal milestones (e.g., moving, getting married) and gifts for significant events and service anniversaries.
  • Employee and family assistance program through Inkblot Therapy for counseling and resources.
  • Opportunities to participate in a two-level employee development program and mentoring for professional growth.
What We Are Looking For

The successful applicant will bring the following experience and attributes:

  • Professional and empathetic manner with active listening skills and the ability to connect with clients and convey information accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to work as part of a team and help people.
  • Fluency in French (written and spoken).
