Qualifications

  • Must have a Class 5 license and at least 1 year of experience.
  • Experience with dock work and operating a forklift.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
  • Punctual and maintain a good attendance record.
  • Provide a criminal record check and driver's abstract.

Responsibilities

  • Start work at 4 AM, Monday to Friday, averaging 10 hours daily.
  • Strip inbound trailers and load local delivery trailers.
  • Use a handheld device to track damages and shortages.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections.
  • Deliver and pick up freight as required.

Job Description

This is a combination of an early morning dock person and a Class 5 delivery driver, start time of 4 AM, Monday to Friday, for an average of 10 hours a day. Flexibility required.

The first few hours are spent on the dock stripping inbound trailers, using a handheld device to track and note damages and shortages, and loading local delivery trailers and 5‑ton trucks. Cubing and reweighing freight, securing freight, starting heaters, and placarding trailers as required.

Pre‑trip and post‑trip truck, deliver, and pick up freight as required.

Qualifications
  • Class 5 license with 1 year of experience
  • 1 year of dock and forklift experience
  • Physically fit, able to repetitively lift 50 lbs
  • Must be punctual and have a good attendance record
  • TDG, WHMIS experience are assets
  • Must be able to provide a criminal record check, driver's abstract, and 2 work‑related references.
