Job description
The Opportunity
  • We are looking for an experienced Civil Engineering / Solid Waste Engineering Drafting Technologist to join our growing team remotely from British Columbia or Alberta.
Responsibilities
  • Produce accurate and detailed drawing sets using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related modeling programs.
  • Analyze and create surfaces with spatial data (LiDAR, terrestrial scanner, and other survey formats).
  • Prepare site grading, road, ditch alignment, and pond grading plans.
  • Prepare and compare as-built plans with design drawings.
  • Calculate earthwork volumes.
  • Apply knowledge of layers, line types, and client-specific requirements.
  • Produce civil engineering plans, which may include existing site plans, design plans, road profiles and cross sections, drafting of typical sections.
About You and Your Qualifications
  • Post-secondary Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering Drafting and Design.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in drafting and design.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D including surfaces, grading, feature lines, alignments and corridors.
  • Familiar with land surveying principles and practices.
  • Computer training in GIS and AutoCAD.
  • Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current and proposed engineering design and surveying standards.
  • Critical and creative thinker with problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of working independently while collaborating in a team environment.
