Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a Civil Project Manager with a background in municipal land development and infrastructure to join our Kelowna team. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to lead a team and plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of civil projects.

A Day in the Life

  • Manage a variety of projects such as infrastructure upgrades and subdivision developments, including design and construction of water, sewer, drainage, and transportation infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance to a team of EITs and designers to deliver preliminary to detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Carry out estimates of project costs, analysis and calculations, design review, preparation of reports, proposals, and contract documentation.
  • Build business relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Interface directly with clients, team members, contractors, and others to clearly define project requirements and expectations.
  • Ensure completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards.
  • Create a work plan that includes a schedule, milestones, control, and risk factors.
  • Proactively resolve performance, scope, and schedule issues as they arise.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Must be registered (or eligible to register) as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in the province of British Columbia.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in municipal engineering and project management.
  • Experience in infrastructure projects, including roads, water systems, drainage, and developments.
  • Experience preparing civil designs, tender documents, cost estimates, technical reports, studies, and proposals.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and project leaders.
  • Experience leading and overseeing projects, managing teams (internal/external), and following Allnorth's project management and quality standards.
  • Strong project management, technical and analytical skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through experience in the preparation of correspondence, reports and proposals.
  • Effective verbal communicator, including presentation, facilitation and listening skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; able to mentor and work with junior engineers and designers.
  • Good organization skills and strong attention to detail.

What’s in it for you?

We believe that a happy and fulfilled team leads to exceptional results, which is why we offer a range of perks designed to support your well-being, career growth and community engagement.

  • Comprehensive benefits package includes extended health and dental coverage and RRSP matching.
  • Employee Assistance Program for team members and their families.
  • A culture of respect and inclusivity fosters long term relationships and a team atmosphere.
  • Professional development and growth opportunities (e.g. New and Young Worker Mentorship program).
  • Opportunity to become a shareholder in a team-owned company.
  • Team Member Referral Program.
  • Monthly “Lunch & Learn” sessions.
  • Opportunities to bond with other team members, have fun and make a difference through involvement in social and safety committees, as well as fundraising and community support initiatives (e.g. Movember, Pi Day, Food Banks, Women’s Shelters, Ronald McDonald House, Earth Day clean ups, etc.).
