Role: CIPS Corporate Membership Outreach Volunteer Supported By: CIPS National Location: Virtual Role Type: Volunteer Commitment: Approx. 3 hours per month (incl. 1-hour monthly Volunteer Committee meeting)

Purpose of the Role

The CIPS Corporate Membership Outreach Volunteer helps expand awareness and adoption of CIPS Corporate Membership by connecting with Canadian organizations and sharing the value of CIPS membership for employee professional development and IT standards.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Membership Outreach

  • Contact Canadian companies and organizations to promote CIPS Corporate Membership for their employees.
  • Communicate the benefits of corporate membership, including professional development, certification, networking, and national recognition.
  • Share information on how CIPS membership supports IT skill development and professional standards within organizations.
  • Refer interested companies to the CIPS National Chief Marketing Officer to support next steps.

Committee Participation

  • Participate in a 1-hour monthly CIPS National Volunteer Committee meeting to coordinate activity, share updates, and assign light follow-up actions.

Skills & Qualities

  • Confident communication and basic outreach skills.
  • Interest in relationship-building or business engagement.
  • Comfort communicating with companies by email or virtual meetings.
  • Professional and positive representation of the CIPS brand.

Eligibility

  • Must be a current CIPS Certified Member, or
