The Victoria Cool Aid Society (Cool Aid) acknowledges that its operations are situated on the unceded territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) peoples, specifically the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, as well as the W̱SÁNEĆ (Saanich) First Nations.
Since 1968, Cool Aid has supported people in building healthier, more stable lives through housing, health care, and community connection. The organization provides integrated, wraparound housing, health and community services grounded in the belief that all clients and patients should have access to the services that meet their individual needs and support their personal goals. Working with partners in the capital region, Cool Aid offers life-changing services to adults who are impacted by poverty, colonization, stigma, and homelessness. These services include permanent housing, emergency shelter, health and dental care, employment assistance, and social and recreational opportunities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for the organization’s strategic, operational, and funding objectives. The CEO ensures and establishes appropriate financial, risk, and administrative controls; oversees effective, inclusive, community care; and inspires a respectful and effective internal workplace culture. The CEO proactively engages with the organization’s community and sector partners, funders, and government to build capacity and enhance the delivery of innovative and responsive services and programs. The CEO works in collaboration with the Board and leadership team to advance a people-centred mission, vision, and impact.
This is an incredible term opportunity for a bold, visible, vision-driven leader who is committed to and will champion the delivery of inclusive and innovative housing, primary healthcare, and social well-being programs and services. The successful candidate will be a progressive advocate with strong organizational abilities across team leadership, finance, community relations, and governance who is approachable, humble, and able to listen and respond in meaningful ways. This position requires excellent interpersonal and planning skills with the ability to facilitate strategic discussions and collaborative opportunities across relationships and services. The preferred candidate will bring a post-secondary degree with at least 10 years of senior management experience including within in a community health or social service setting. A combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.
This is a 12-month term position, The salary for range for this position is $192,088 - $207,669, supplemented by a competitive total compensation package.
