A leading organization in Canada's nursing ecosystem is seeking a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to provide strategic leadership and oversight. The CEO will manage operations, collaborate with regulatory bodies, and drive initiatives that enhance the value proposition for internationally educated nurses pursuing licensure in Canada. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong operational management skills, team leadership experience, and a commitment to ethical practices.
Since 2014, the National Nursing Assessment Service has provided an online process for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) to begin their journey to become licensed as a nurse in Canada. NNAS is a national not-for-profit serving 18 nursing Regulatory Bodies (RB) representing three nursing professions in Canada – Licensed/Registered Practical Nurses (LPN), Registered Nurses (RN) and Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN) – in all jurisdictions except Quebec and the Territories.
NNAS plays an important and impactful role in Canada’s nursing ecosystem. It is within this exciting context that NNAS is seeking its next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Reporting to NNAS’ Board of Directors and leading a skilled team of eight full-time staff, the CEO ensures the effective management of all financial, contractual, and administrative aspects of NNAS’ virtual office operations. Working in close collaboration with NNAS’ RB members and the Board, the CEO provides leadership in the development and implementation of strategies and programs that ensure that NNAS continues to advance its value proposition as an efficient and trusted credentialing servicefor Internationally Educated Nurses interested in becoming a nurse in Canada.
As the ideal candidate, you are a systems thinker with a proven track record of driving growth, enhancing value proposition and ensuring excellence in client service delivery. You demonstrate strength in meeting operational and fiscal goals, and you are adept at analyzing, planning, negotiating and managing key vendor and contractual relationships. Your outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are complimented by an ability to authentically and transparently engage with a diverse array of internal and external audiences, sometimes with competing interests, towards the achievement of a vision for shared success. Entrepreneurial, forward thinking, responsive, and outcomes oriented are all terms peers would use to describe you.
You are an inclusive and collaborative team leader with a compassionate and empowering style that has allowed you to build cohesive and high performing teams. You bring demonstrable experience reporting to or serving on a board of directors and can quickly engender trust and confidence by virtue of your high ethical standards, transparency, integrity, humility and high level of client centricity. Demonstrable knowledge or experience working in another regulated or credentialling organization is an asset. Experience successfully building cultural strength and leading a geographically dispersed team working in a virtual office environment would be ideal.
