A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Chef to lead kitchen operations in Central Delta, British Columbia. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of international experience in hotels or high-volume restaurants, strong leadership, and multitasking skills. Responsibilities include cooking high-quality dishes, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Lead kitchen operations, supervising and training staff.
Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment.
Manage ordering, inventory control, and stock rotation.
Plan and execute menus, prep schedules, and events.
Create and manage staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Use a computer for administrative tasks (ordering, scheduling, menu planning).
Act as a mentor for junior staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Work closely with management to align culinary standards with customer expectations.
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of international experience as a Chef, ideally in hotels, franchised chains, or high-volume restaurants (past or current experience accepted).
Strong English communication skills, able to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
Proven administrative abilities, including ordering, scheduling, inventory, and prep planning.
Computer literacy for administrative work (computer provided).
Hands-on cooking experience with the ability to train and support team members.
Strong leadership, organizational, and multitasking skills.
