Role Overview

The CAT Senior Advisor plays a pivotal role within the Catastrophe (CAT) Team, specializing in the management of complex claims and championing operational excellence. This role drives advisor development and ensures compliance throughout catastrophe events. It is instrumental in building a resilient, agile, and data‑driven CAT team that delivers high‑quality customer service, empowers growth, reduces escalations, and strengthens our national response capabilities.

Job Description
  • Manage complex Auto and Residential claims, including VIP, U.S., pre‑litigation, employee, condominium, rental property, Additional Living Expenses (ALE), and rural claims.
  • Ensure timely and quality resolution of files, with a focus on reducing claims cost and severity.
  • Apply standardized processes for risk event frameworks and support compliance initiatives.
  • Handle customer escalations, manager escalations, and high‑risk executive complaints.
  • Proactively mitigate escalations through expert intervention and communication.
  • Provide one‑on‑one mentorship and coaching to new hires and peers.
  • Facilitate training sessions and knowledge transfer.
  • Serve as backup for managers and support vacation coverage.
Operational Excellence
  • Monitor and analyze claim handling processes to identify trends and recommend targeted improvements.
  • Support business initiatives, drive efficiencies, and prioritize feedback to leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to coordinate CAT response and share best practices.
  • Allocate resources effectively to balance workload and improve cycle times.

  • Reduce severity and escalations, improve communication, and streamline claims processes.
