Overview

Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for Casual Education Assistants throughout the Division in all areas - Onoway, Alberta Beach, Sangudo, Mayerthorpe, Whitecourt, Fox Creek and Valleyview.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students in an inclusive setting
• Follow the direction of the classroom Teacher

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with children, parents and staff
• Work collaboratively and co-operatively with teachers and other educational assistants in the classroom/school
• Understand and carry out oral and written direction
• Work independently with minimal instruction
• Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills
• Respect confidentiality
• Practice professionalism with all students, staff, administration, parents and public
• Are aware of NGPS policies and administrative procedures
• Have experience working with young children
• Have an understanding of the teaching/learning process
• Have strong interpersonal skills and patience
