United Gulf Developments, a leading Halifax-based company specializing in the development and construction of projects ranging from subdivisions and commercial plazas to high-rise mixed-use developments, is seeking reliable and hardworking Construction Formworkers / Carpenters to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to meaningful projects in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and install concrete forms for footings, walls, slabs, and columns
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Strip and clean forms and reassemble them for reuse
  • Ensure formwork is level, plumb, and properly braced
  • Follow all safety regulations and procedures on-site
  • Work closely with site supervisors and other trades
Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in construction or a related field is preferred.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety guidelines and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with construction tools and equipment is an asset.
  • Reliability: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic is a must.
  • Legal Eligibility: Must be a Canadian citizen or hold a valid open work permit.
Additional Assets
  • Transportation: Possession of a valid Class 5 driver's license and access to a vehicle is considered an asset as some worksites are not on HRM bus routes.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Own hard hat, steel-toed boots, and reflective vest.
Compensation
  • Hourly Wage: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday with potential for overtime.
  • Benefits: Health and dental benefits available after probationary period.
