Position Overview: Assembles mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations. Uses various hand and power tools and operates equipment such as jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and assemble. Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitors quality of products and raw materials. Reads simple blueprints. Performs routine maintenance and cleaning. Corrects minor machine malfunctions. Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision. Common job titles include: Press Operator, Machine Operator, Maker / Packer.

About Procor Limited: Procor manages Canada’s largest private tank car lease fleet and operates an extensive repair network across the country, including over 30,500 tank and freight cars. We serve markets such as petroleum, petrochemicals, plastics, chemicals, fertilizers, and food.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Tank car repairs including brake tests, general repairs, valve replacement/rebuilding
• Tank car cleaning and re-qualification
• Jacking and switching of railcars
• Confined space entry
• Top fittings modifications
• Adhere to health and safety standards, including Responsible Care policy
• Other related duties as required

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in tank car repair and cleaning
• Successful completion of four-position fillet weld test
• WHMIS training and experience handling hazardous materials
• NDT certifications such as PLI, MPI, UTT, BLT are advantageous
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently
• Strong initiative and a valid driver’s license
