The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is seeking an enthusiastic, responsible, and experienced Camp Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of the Town’s Day Camp programs. Reporting to the Recreation Program Specialist, this leadership role is responsible for staff supervision, program delivery, participant safety, and the creation of a fun, inclusive, and high-quality camp experience for children and youth.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Town’s Day Camp program, ensuring safe, engaging, and well-organized activities.
- Lead, mentor, schedule, and support camp staff, including training, performance feedback, and supervision.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate camp programs and daily activities in alignment with HIGH FIVE® principles.
- Ensure participant safety, adherence to the Code of Conduct, and compliance with Town policies and health and safety legislation.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding participant needs, incidents, and program information.
- Manage administrative and operational tasks, including records, supplies, inventory, and reporting.
- Monitor program quality and recommend improvements to enhance participant experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Post-secondary enrollment in Recreation and Leisure, Child Studies, or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience working with children and youth in a camp or recreational setting.
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR-C, and AED certification.
- HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development certification.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-responsibility setting.
- Valid Class G Driver’s Licence.
- Knowledge of ACTIVENet recreation software is an asset.
Working Conditions
- Seasonal position with weekday hours; some flexibility may be required based on operational needs.
- Work is primarily conducted in indoor and outdoor recreational settings.
