Overview

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the technical foundation of Wing Group’s analytics environment. This includes building and optimizing data marts, creating and managing ETL/ELT processes, developing SQL queries and views in Snowflake, and delivering scalable, high-performance dashboards in Power BI and other visualization platforms. The BI Developer ensures that data is efficiently modeled, transformed, and accessible, enabling the BI team and business stakeholders to make informed, timely decisions.

We estimate the salary range for this position to be between $60,000 to $110,000 annually. Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain data marts and underlying data models to support reporting and analytics.
  • Build and optimize SQL scripts, views, and stored procedures in Snowflake for high-performance queries.
  • Create, manage, and enhance ETL/ELT pipelines to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in Power BI and other BI tools, ensuring scalability and usability.
  • Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and governance standards to maintain trusted datasets.
  • Collaborate with BI Analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Monitor and improve performance of BI solutions, including query tuning and resource optimization.
  • Stay informed on BI, Snowflake, and data engineering best practices to enhance platform capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and database optimization.
  • Advanced Snowflake skills, including SQL scripting, performance tuning, and security configuration.
  • Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools and processes (e.g., dbt, Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend).
  • Experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, Power Query, publishing/sharing).
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and security best practices.
  • Expertise in building scalable BI data architectures.
  • Strong SQL skills for complex query development and optimization.
  • Ability to integrate multiple data sources into unified datasets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • High attention to detail and focus on data accuracy.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
