Job summary

A national health charity in Toronto is looking for a Business Analyst to drive meaningful change and optimize business processes. The ideal candidate will partner with various stakeholders to implement process enhancements, support project management, and contribute to the evolution of standards and methodologies. Must have a degree in a related field, significant experience in project management, and strong analytical skills. This position offers a hybrid work model and various employee benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technology field.
  • Business Analyst Designation (completed or in progress) preferred.
  • Knowledge of Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK).
  • Knowledge of process optimization methodologies (e.g. Lean Six Sigma) would be an asset.
  • Minimum five years of project experience, with some of that time working on technology systems implementations.
  • Minimum three years of experience as a business analyst.

Heart & Stroke provides a hybrid work option for this position. While most work can be performed remotely, candidates must reside within the GTA to accommodate occasional travel to the Toronto office (Yonge & Eglinton) as business needs arise.

How you will make an impact every day
Project Planning and Execution
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and document high-level requirements and project scope.
  • Lead detailed requirements gathering for current state analysis and future process mapping.
  • Identify gaps and support effective decision making and risk assessment for initiatives.
  • Summarize challenges and recommendations for team review.
  • Prepare clear documentation, diagrams, and process maps; work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements.
  • Validate requirements with internal teams to ensure business needs are met.
  • Maintain and refine detailed requirements.
  • Partner with BSAs as they create user stories, process flows, and test cases; ensure stakeholder sign‑off.
  • Contribute to project documents, including business cases, charters, and RAID logs.
Process Improvement
  • Support operational efficiency initiatives outside of projects by identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Engage stakeholders to assess current processes, pain points, and desired outcomes.
Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the EPMO team's main contact for cross-functional collaboration, managing activities and escalation.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand current and future states of projects and improvement efforts.
Who we need
Education

  • Experience with vendor and team relations and willingness to work with external vendors to better understand the current state where applicable.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Strong team player with the ability to be self‑directed when required.
  • Ability to multi‑task while maintaining a positive attitude and calm disposition.
  • Respect timelines and also has the courage to proactively communicate when an obstacle may impede the achievement of a deadline.
  • Thrives in a highly collaborative and constantly evolving environment and helps others with change.
  • Knowledge of project management principles including the agile approach to project management.
  • Experience with process mapping tools (e.g. Visio).
  • Experience with SmartSheet as a project management tool and Issue tracking software (Jira) is an asset.
  • Experience with operating and/or corporate planning is an asset.
  • Experience mapping out process improvement opportunities.
  • Experience and willingness to leverage transferable skills in new work opportunities.
