Our Client is one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.

Description

The Business Analyst in this role will report to the Manager, Inter-Affiliate, Compliance Training & Services; this position will be responsible for providing maternity leave coverage within ’s Inter-Affiliate Compliance team.

Our clients Corporate Compliance department fosters and enhances a culture of compliance, continuous improvement and innovation, while collaborating with our business partners to champion a culture of integrity and ethics. The Inter-Affiliate Compliance team manages the organizations Inter-Affiliate Codes Program and provides governance to the Company to ensure our operations satisfy the requirements of our Inter-Affiliate Codes. These Codes safeguard against improper sharing of information, people and resources to ensure a fair and competitive market for all.

Responsibilities
  • Support in carrying out Inter-Affiliate compliance requirements, primarily with the Canadian Gas Pipelines Code of Conduct and the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Standards of Conduct (SOC).
  • Conduct and support analysis of routine business processes, assist with regulatory submissions, and improve processes.
  • Work closely with other departments for data gathering and compliance canvassing.
  • Coordinate and support processes for daily, monthly, quarterly and annual compliance requirements.
  • Provide compliance analysis and advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze personnel changes and manage role classifications to ensure appropriate permissions are implemented.
  • Database and document management, including use of SharePoint and Workday.
Required
  • 2 years of relevant experience, in a highly regulated industry
  • Knowledge of FERC Standards of Conduct (SOC) and Canadian Gas Pipelines Code of Conduct (nice to have)
  • Previous experience with Workday (or similar HRIS) and managing Role-Based Access Control (nice to have)
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Experience in Business Process Mapping or using Lean methodologies
  • Experienced with SharePoint administration (permissions, libraries, metadata) and database management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail;
  • Adaptable and able to handle multiple priorities and manage projects to successful completion on tight timeframes;
  • Experience following and continuously improving business processes;
  • Experience analyzing problems and recommending solutions;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work efficiently and effectively independently, as part of a team and/or with stakeholders;
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn, problem solve, share information, meet deadlines and accomplish tasks;
  • Education
  • Relevant post-secondary education (e.g., Undergraduate degree in Business, Policy Studies, Legal/Regulatory or other related field).
