Position Summary

BC Housing is seeking a Budget & Financial Analyst (Job ID: 6654) to prepare complex financial analyses, reports, and support the annual budget process. The analyst will provide consulting services to staff across departments regarding financial data management, analysis, and verification.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Considerable work experience in a high-volume computerized financial accounting environment carrying out complex financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting functions, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledges, Skills & Abilities
  • Considerable knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting functions within the public sector.
  • Knowledges of financial, accounting and reporting systems, processes and controls.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn and understand mission-critical corporate enterprise applications and IT systems (JDE1 and WebFOCUS).
  • Attention to detail, high accuracy with numbers, independent initiative, ability to handle multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines with changing priorities.
  • Strong research, analytical, problem solving, conceptual thinking, organizational and time management skills.
