You will inspire creativity and warm hospitality among staff and guests alike. The Head Bartender oversees all bar operations, motivates your team through innovation, learning, and practice, and acts as a leader within the local bar community and abroad.

What you will be doing:
- Leading a progressive bar team in a high-end environment focused on positive guest experiences
- Representing the hotel and bar program at offsite events
- Collaborating with the Creative Beverage Director to develop a leading bar program
- Creating cocktail specifications and prep methods
- Providing professional, friendly, and proactive guest service and supporting colleagues
- Preparing and serving cocktails, mocktails, and mixology beverages
- Conducting performance assessments and managing training
- Leading team initiatives for change and innovation within scope of work
- Building internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Assisting guests with beverage menu inquiries
- Managing beverage stock and controlling costs according to guidelines
- Handling purchasing and receiving procedures and analyzing beverage sales
- Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of beverage lists, promotions, and menu preparation methods
- Ensuring safety and sanitation policies are followed when handling food and beverages
Managing site/outlet and equipment maintenance
Your experience and skills include:
- Experience in cocktail menu development, menu engineering, and training
- Strong spirits knowledge; spirits education courses preferred
- Good wine knowledge; WSET 2+ preferred
- BC Serving It Right Certificate required
- Previous high-volume luxury food & beverage bartending experience; experience in AAA/CAA 4-5 Diamond or Forbes 5 Star hotels is an asset
- Degree or Diploma in Hotel/Hospitality or Tourism is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of beverage products
- Experience with Point of Sale systems is an asset
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
