Lorax Environmental Services Ltd. is seeking a Project Assistant/ Bookkeeper to join our team at the Vancouver, BC office for a full-time position. This role blends administrative project support with advanced bookkeeping responsibilities, such as managing accounts payable/receivable. We are a growing company and require an assistant with full-cycle accounting experience. This position offers an opportunity to work with a highly motivated team of professionals. This position is full-time on-site at Lorax’s Vancouver office.

Key responsibilities of the position:
  • Manage timesheets, accounts payable & receivable efficiently and accurately
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and financial records
  • Assist in administrative tasks according to the instructions of the project management and ensure a smooth flow of communication between all parties involved, including deadline management and deliverables
  • Assist in drafting accruals and invoices in support of Project Accountant
  • Perform relief front office duties including reception, report formatting, shipping/courier coordination, when required
Qualifications for this role include:
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in a bookkeeping/accounting position.
  • Degree or certification in bookkeeping/accounting.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Experience with administrative and office support.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for interfacing with team members with technical backgrounds as well as clients, collaborating consultants, and other stakeholders. Experience in a service-oriented industry would be an asset.
  • Strong understanding of accounting/bookkeeping principles and practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry & record keeping
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a group/team environment
