Overview

The Sexual Assault Centre for Quinte & District is a feminist organization that provides nonjudgemental, trauma informed supportive counselling and information for all survivors of sexual violence and abuse in Hastings & Prince Edward Counties.

Position: Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant

We are looking for a dedicated Bookkeeper / Administrative Assistant to join our team at the main office in Belleville. This is a fulltime, 35 hours per week daytime Monday to Friday in-office position. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, accurate and have a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Booking position

  • Record all business transactions, process accruals and adjustments and reconcile accounts
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage Accounts Receivable, including daily postings, processing credit card transactions, reconciling bank accounts, GL entries / postings and transferring payments as needed
  • Manage Accounts Payable, including tracking and processing vendor invoices and preparing weekly payments
  • Complete journal entries and documentation for annual external audit
  • Payroll duties
  • Perform other financial duties as requested by the Executive Director

Admin Assistant position

  • Complete administrative duties and assignments from management
  • Respond to calls and emails promptly and professionally
  • Record and file minutes for all staff meetings
  • Answer in-coming phone calls with professionalism and client-focused approach
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with the staff team
  • Perform other administrative duties as requested by Management
Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in an accounting environment
  • College diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping and experience with accounting and payroll software is required (i.e : Great Plains (GP); Ceridian)
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and computer skills in various programs including Microsoft 365
  • Problem solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to new systems, software / programs and information
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy especially under time constraints
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and the use of your own vehicle at all times
  • Current Police Record check
  • AR / AO knowledge and understanding is an asset
