YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Drill and Blast Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Assist with blast site hazard assessments to ensure the blast site area is a safe working environment;
  • Open to operate haul trucks when not needed on blast crew.
  • Ensure that all equipment used is in good operating condition;
  • Ensure that all regulations both federally (TDG, Explosives Act, Bulk Regulations, WHIMIS) and provincially (Blasting Safety and OH&S Regulations) are adhered to within the operation in regards to personnel, product storage, and product transportation;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of all products (explosive and non-explosive);
  • Maintain open channels of communication with supervisors and other operators, ensuring all communication systems are utilized correctly and effectively;
  • Follow defined practices to assure quality, safety and housekeeping standards;
  • Promote a positive health, safety and environment culture and the Internal Responsibility System.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
  • High school/GED Diploma or proof of completed equivalency and/or a combination of education/training and experience;
  • Minimum one year work experience in open pit mining;
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

Your Work Schedule:

Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
