Overview

Biomedical Engineer – Dental – Our client is a well-established leader in the dental services industry seeking to hire a highly skilled and innovative Biomedical Engineer to join their diagnostic bio-imaging team. The role focuses on the development of medical devices and technologies related to the head and neck, designing, testing, and optimizing biomedical solutions that enhance diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for cranial, cervical, and facial regions. This is an onsite downtown office-based position. You will report to the Division Director.

Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Create and refine medical devices for patients such as cranial implants, airway support systems, neurostimulation devices, and diagnostic imaging tools. Use CAD CAM software and simulation tools to model anatomical structures and device interactions.
  • Clinical Collaboration: Work closely with Oral Surgeons and Dental Specialists and collaborate with the dental lab and manufacturing to ensure the quality and precision of medical device placement and fit for patients.
  • Testing and Validation: Test to ensure safety, efficacy, and regulatory compliance; analyze performance data and refine designs based on biomechanical and physiological feedback.
  • Regulatory and Documentation: Prepare technical documentation for FDA/Health Canada; ensure compliance with ISO standards and medical device regulations.
  • Research and Innovation: Stay current with advancements in biomaterials, tissue engineering, and 3D printing for head and neck applications.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with experience and interest in head and neck anatomy, medical imaging, and craniofacial device development. Proficiency in CAD CAM and medical device testing protocols is required, with a strong understanding of regulatory pathways and clinical environments. Preference given to candidates with experience in 3D printing of anatomical models or implants, and familiarity with surgical navigation systems or robotic-assisted devices.

This is a full-time permanent role and salary is based on experience and includes full company health benefits. This is an onsite role working Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.
