Job description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Victor. This position will be based in Ottawa, and it is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working a minimum of three days a week in the office. Full-time remote work may be considered depending on location.

In this role, you will collaborate with adjusters, technical experts, and legal counsel to develop and coordinate defense strategies for prompt resolution of professional liability insurance claims. You will join a supportive, fast-paced team focused on effective dispute resolution.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and assess new claims to determine coverage and take appropriate action.
  • Retain and instruct lawyers, claims adjusters, and experts as required.
  • Work with retained professionals to assess legal exposure and strategize on the resolution of claims.
  • Report to and collaborate with colleagues and external clients.
  • Some travel may be required.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills in both official languages (English/French).
  • 2+ years of work experience in a professional environment within the following areas: insurance, claims adjusting/examining, finance/business, law, project management, engineering, or engineering technology.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to assess issues, develop effective solutions, and exercise sound judgment.
