Duties
- Complete behavioral assessments and plan treatment strategies in conjunction with team
- Develop, implement and evaluate individual client Behavioural plans
- Coordinate and monitor service delivery and assist in the development and delivery of training sessions for clients, staff and community partners
- Develop and implements, in conjunction with treatment team members, evidence-based treatment plans responsive to client needs
- Participates in the development and delivery of educational and informational programs for residents and staff
- Provide the on-going follow-up and support for the LTCH staff, working with residents who present with complex care and behavioural issues and their families
- Facilitate transfer of knowledge into practice and enhance staff’s ability to manage responsive behaviours and care plan interventions through role modeling, coaching, and mentoring
- This position includes a component of clinical supervision or formal consultation, which will be provided by either a Registered Psychologist or a Registered Behavior Analyst
- Work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of The Royal

Qualifications
- Post graduate diploma or degree from a recognized college or university such as a diploma in Behaviour Analysis or a related field, e.g. Behavioural Science Technology (3 years advanced), or a related undergraduate degree with emphasis on applied behavior analysis
- Prior experience with clients in Long Term Care and the community
- Direct clinical experience implementing Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) preferred
- Board Certified Assistant Behavioural Analyst (BCaBA) preferred
- Ability to train others in ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) principles is an asset
- Computer skills and experience/familiarity with care planning functions, as well as workload measurement tools
- Training in PIECES TM, BSO Foundations, Gentle Persuasive Approach, U-First!, DementiAbility, or willingness to complete the training successfully
- Specialized skills in dementia, mental health & addictions. Knowledge of best practices in these areas and the effect on residents, families and care providers
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Long Term Care (LTC) Home Act & regulations, and other legislation relevant to the location of care
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team model, yet show independent practice initiative in organizing and prioritizing work effectively and with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to form collaborative working relationships with LTCH staff and other community partners
- Strong knowledge of community resources for seniors with mental health & addictions issues
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of clinic schedules with psychiatrists, LTCH staff, residents and their families
- Experience in facilitation of group/individual training/education is considered an asset
- Valid class G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for work use is required
- English level A- is mandatory in oral comprehension, expression, reading, and writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset
