Banquet Server (Part Time) at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts — Edmonton, Alberta.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Provide prompt, courteous and efficient food & beverage service in accordance with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards
  • Work as part of a team to provide a consistently high standard of service in areas such as meeting setups and all meal functions
  • Effectively handle guest concerns through empowerment, and report any irregularities to Leader
  • Report any deficiencies in equipment or level of supplies to the Banquet Captains
  • Ensure the equipment and all work areas are maintained to hotel standard
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program
  • Carry out any other tasks as assigned
Physical Aspects
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year in a similar function in Food & Beverage, preferably Banquets or Conventions
  • Post-Secondary education in Hotel / Food and Beverage Management an asset
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to make effective decisions
  • Demonstrates initiative, and the ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain high service levels under pressure
  • Physically fit to lift trays repeatedly, stand and walk for the duration of the shift
  • You may be required to work on holidays, weekends, overnights and other non-day shifts
  • Candidates must be legal to serve alcohol in Alberta (18 years of age) and must possess ProServe certification

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents
