Job description
The Opportunity:

The Mental Health Support Worker, working in our new Long Term Care, Mental Health specialty program, will work as a member of the interdisciplinary team, collaborating and supporting the residents in delivering support to residents who are 18+ with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • As a key part of the interdisciplinary team and in collaboration with the Resident Care Manager, Social Worker and Occupational Therapist, you will provide behaviour & symptom support to mental health residents, 18 years and older
  • Using a strength based approach, foster residents’ overall well-being, psycho-social recovery, stability and community re-integration
  • Using your ability to build rapport, support and facilitate the development of residents problem solving, competencies and social integration
  • Become part of a resident-centered environment
  • Report any unsafe activities or behaviours that may cause harm or injury to the resident or others
Qualifications:
  • Diploma/Certificate in Community/Mental Health, Addictions, Aboriginal Studies or other
