A.S.P. is looking for an Aviation Security Specialist, who will take pride in becoming an ambassador of the Airport and make every interaction professional and positive. A successful candidate will be required to work with integrity, respect, and take responsibility for the security and safety of the Lester B. Pearson Toronto International Airport.

What you will do :

  • Monitoring, controlling, & patrolling public areas, high-profile / risk zones, check-in counters, and baggage areas.
  • Reporting safety concerns, security breaches, criminal activities, suspicious behaviors, unattended items, etc., to the SOC / IOC and Shift Lead with detailed information.
  • Conducting foot patrols in all public areas of the terminal, displaying a proactive approach to safety, security, and visibility for passengers and staff.
  • Performing patrols using unpredictable methods to check for irregularities, hazards, security violations, unattended items, suspicious persons / activities.
  • Assisting IOCC during alarms, power failures, access control issues, etc.
  • Monitoring BOLOs, Amber Alerts, and missing persons reports, maintaining active surveillance for matching individuals.
  • Participating in client operations, team briefings, and debriefings.
  • Maintaining shift reports, incident reports, and submitting them timely.
  • Representing the Airport Authority by providing excellent customer service.
  • Inspecting and maintaining assigned equipment and tools.
  • Supporting management with on-the-job training and new recruit orientation.
  • Performing emergency response duties as outlined in the Airport Emergency Response Manual.

Who you are :

  • High School diploma or Grade 12 education.
  • 2-5 years of security experience or equivalent, with previous employment at A.S.P. preferred.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • Strong knowledge of security hardware, software, and systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Willing to work on a 24 / 7 rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Security License, Ontario Driver’s License (G or higher), with a clean driving record, and Basic First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Willing to provide a Criminal Record check upon request.
  • Possession of RAIC and AVOP D / DA is an asset.
