Through excellent, friendly customer service, they cultivate relationships with customers built on knowledge and trust.

The person in this role must demonstrate a passion for transferring the knowledge of, and selling of, cannabis products. This role requires an individual who has excellent communication skills, is enthusiastic, and has a willingness to learn, train others and achieve results.

Additionally, there is a light warehousing component to the role. Candidates may be required to do some light lifting (< 45lbs) and product merchandising on the retail floor and in the stockroom.

Additional Information

Please note: Auxiliary Cannabis Consultants work on an on-call, as-needed basis through a daily recall system. Hours of work are not guaranteed and subject to availability. Some auxiliary employees may not initially work a full 35-hour work week, but with more hours worked and more seniority gained, more opportunities for more hours of work will follow. Auxiliary positions are not permanent full-time, but can lead to permanent full-time opportunities with a very competitive total compensation package; including a comprehensive pension plan, medical and dental coverage (including massage and physiotherapy), tuition reimbursement and scholarship programs, and access to public service employee benefits including career support services, financial and legal services, and employee and family counselling. When applying, please clearly indicate your daily availability in your cover letter.

Education and Experience

A minimum of one year of recent (within the last five years), related experience working in a sales environment with a high level of customer interaction is required.

A Selling It Right certification is required prior to the first day of work. The successful candidate is responsible for completing the self-directed Selling It Right course facilitated by the Responsible Service of BC branch of government prior to reporting into work on the first day as a condition of employment.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in a retail environment.
  • Experience working with a computerized retail system, including Point of Sale and Inventory Management applications.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in delivering an Omni-channel/consumer experience.
