The position

As a Platform Infrastructure Automation Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the automation that powers NEP’s global broadcast and media infrastructure. You’ll work at the intersection of network engineering and DevOps, developing tooling and workflows that unify infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and platform resilience.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Build and extend CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) that integrate with infrastructure-as-code, container delivery, and testing workflows.
  • Automate provisioning of network devices, Kubernetes clusters, cloud infrastructure, and edge workloads.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure modules (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Python) to manage hybrid platforms consistently.
  • Implement observability standards across infrastructure—logging, tracing, metrics—using tools such as Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with network engineers, platform developers, and site reliability engineers to ensure automation integrates across functional domains.
  • Contribute to self-service tooling and internal developer platforms to empower teams to safely deploy and manage infrastructure resources.
  • Support automated integration testing and validation for network services and infrastructure components.
  • Write clean, modular, and well-documented code that supports long-term maintainability and platform growth.
Required skills and attributes:
  • Strong experience in infrastructure automation and DevOps practices within hybrid (on-prem + cloud) environments.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Kustomize, or Helm.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes administration, deployment automation, and GitOps workflows.
  • Solid scripting or software development skills in Python, Go, or Bash for tooling and integrations.
  • Familiarity with network device automation (e.g., via NAPALM, Netmiko, gNMI, or native APIs).
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or GitLab CI.
  • Comfortable working across Linux systems, container runtimes, and Kubernetes-based clusters.
  • Understanding of observability concepts and tools such as Prometheus, Loki, ELK Stack, etc.
