Job description

Adecco is currently hiring for an Associate Scientist, R&D for our Medical Manufacturing client in Ottawa West. This is an opportunity offering Full Time hours, Monday – Friday. The salary for this position will be determined based on education and experience.

As a member of Research and Development team, the candidate will be responsible to conduct experimentation and measurement utilizing multiple techniques, investigate, identify, develop and optimize new methods, processes or techniques to meet project needs.

Shifts: Monday – Friday

Responsibilities:
  • Must be legally eligible to work and live within Canada.
  • Assist in developing analytical systems through experimentation
  • Assist in implementing new experimental protocols, studies or operational processes.
  • Support interpretation of data and results, conclusions, and noting of Scientific deviations.
  • Support the design and execution of relevant experiments, studies and tests.
  • ?Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.
  • Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as may be required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry or equivalent required.
  • Proven technical, creative, teamwork and implementation skills to contribute to product and process development.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Strong written, filing, oral, and organizational skills are required
  • Ability to work both independently and within small and large teams.
  • Ability to organize experiments, process knowledge and data to invent new methodologies.
  • Proven track record of good record keeping practices;
  • Judgment and decision-making skills, coordinating and planning skills, ability to work in a multi-task environment and communicate well within cross functional teams.
  • The ability to work under pressure, with propensity to continuous learning.
  • Experience with electrochemical and microfluidic systems is an asset.
  • Experience designing, executing and documenting experiments and studies is an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with any of the following areas would be an asset: Design Control, Design Transfer, ISO/FDA regulations, Risk management/FMEA methods.
  • Knowledge of math and statistics, good computer skills, including knowledge of SAS JMP/Minitab.
