Job description

Trickle Creek Golf Resort, a Les Furber–designed course and a division of Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, is nestled on the mountainside of beautiful Kimberley, BC. We are seeking an energetic, motivated, and passionate Assistant Superintendent to join our Grounds Maintenance team and help deliver exceptional playing conditions and guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent in developing and implementing agronomic strategies
  • Schedule, assign, and direct daily tasks of the maintenance staff, ensuring efficiency and staff safety
  • Monitor course conditions and report daily to the Superintendent on turf health, staff safety, and task progress
  • Perform irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, repair, and system control adjustments as required or directed
  • Apply turf pesticides and fertilizers in accordance with regulations and best practices
  • Lead annual first-day training, including Health & Safety, equipment operation, and company policies and procedures
  • Work closely with the OH&S Director and assist in maintaining and updating the OH&S program annually
  • Participate in HR-related responsibilities including hiring, training, discipline, and staff evaluations
  • Develop, mentor, and support staff in all aspects of golf course maintenance
  • Collaborate with the Pro Shop and Food & Beverage departments to support operations, address challenges, and communicate scheduling changes
  • Troubleshoot equipment and tool issues and assist the Mechanic as required
  • Perform all course maintenance duties as required and/or directed by the Superintendent
  • Work weekends and holidays as required throughout the golf season
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a golf course maintenance supervisory role
  • Completion of, or enrollment in, a Turf Management program considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repair considered an asset
  • Valid B.C. Driver’s License with a clean abstract
  • Valid B.C. Pesticide Applicator Certificate, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills (English), with a positive, energetic attitude
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to meet the physical demands of the position

  • Competitive wage $27.25 to $32.25/hour, depending on experience, 9-month working season
