Job description

Matchbox Consulting Group is seeking a Architectural Technologist for our client, an established and design-focused real estate organization based in Kelowna. This is an in‑house opportunity supporting a diverse portfolio of residential, recreational, and commercial projects.

This role offers the chance to work closely with internal development, construction, and leadership teams, contributing to projects ranging from cabins and custom homes to multi‑unit residential and commercial developments. The successful candidate will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle—from early design through construction, providing meaningful variety and long‑term project ownership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and develop architectural drawings from concept through construction documentation
  • Produce detailed 3D models and design visualizations using Revit and other 3D software
  • Support design development across residential, recreational, and commercial projects
  • Coordinate drawings with internal stakeholders and external consultants (engineers, planners, contractors)
  • Assist with permit applications and municipal submission packages
  • Review and incorporate consultant markups and site changes
  • Support value engineering, constructability reviews, and design optimization
  • Maintain drawing standards, templates, and documentation consistency
  • Participate in internal design reviews and project meetings as required
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in an architectural technologist or similar role
  • Strong proficiency in Revit (required)
  • Experience producing 3D models and design visualizations
  • Solid understanding of the BC Building Code and local permitting processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred / Nice to Have
  • Experience working in‑house for a developer or builder
  • Exposure to residential wood‑frame construction
  • Familiarity with SketchUp, Enscape, Lumion, or similar rendering tools
  • Experience coordinating with municipal authorities in the Okanagan
  • Registered or working toward registration as an AIBC Architectural Technologist
