  • Apply medicinal substances to control and prevent diseases
  • Incorporate biosecurity measures into daily operation
  • Supervise staff
  • Train staff
  • Design and construct pens, floating stations and collector strings or fences for sea farms
  • Scuba dive to inspect sea farm operations
  • Co-ordinate selection and maintenance of brood stock
  • Collect and record data
  • Determine food requirements and structure feeding regimes
  • Establish inventory and quality control methods
  • Establish marketing programs
  • Identify diseases or parasites
  • Maintain financial records
  • Manage and train aquaculture and fish hatchery support workers and supervise technicians and technologists
  • Manage fish hatchery, fish farm or other aquatic farm
  • Monitor environment and maintain optimum conditions
  • Operate and maintain harvesting and cultivating equipment
  • Oversee preparation of site for species cultivation
