We are currently seeking a registered Apprentice Electrician, ideally in their 2nd year, with residential electrical experience, to join our team.
As an Apprentice Electrician at MMi Electrical Services, you will work under the supervision of a Journeyman Electrician on a wide range of residential construction, renovation, and service projects. You will be a key part of the jobsite team and a professional, client-facing representative of our company from project start through completion.
This role is ideal for an apprentice who is committed to progressing through their apprenticeship, learning the trade the right way, and contributing positively to a growing electrical business.
Follow all company policies, safety programs, and procedures in compliance with Alberta Occupational Health & Safety legislation and the Canadian Electrical Code
Assist with the installation, alteration, troubleshooting, testing, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment
Prepare job sites, tools, materials, and equipment to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and work instructions with guidance from a Journeyman Electrician
Accurately complete job documentation, timesheets, and apprenticeship records
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite, tools, and service vehicle
Actively participate in the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) program, including attending technical training and logging required hours
Registered Apprentice Electrician with Alberta Apprenticeship & Industry Training
2nd Year Apprentice preferred (other levels may be considered based on experience)
Residential electrical experience strongly preferred
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation
Ability to pass pre-employment checks, including:
Criminal background check
Driver’s abstract (if required)
Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to follow direction
Professional attitude suitable for a client-facing environment
Mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in the electrical trade
Basic understanding of electrical theory, tools, and safe work practices
Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Pride in quality workmanship and jobsite cleanliness
Residential and light commercial job sites across the Greater Edmonton Area
Monday to Friday, typically 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility required based on workload)
Physically demanding work including lifting up to 35 lbs, climbing ladders, working at heights, and in confined spaces
Year-round work with a stable and supportive team environment
