Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is looking for a dynamic person to fill an Application Engineering role in our Automation and Assembly division. What You Will Get To Do
- Prepare and perform design of experiments, performance and validation testing for the Engineering team, including customer requests, design improvements and field‑related issues that require improvements.
- Engineering testing activities while working directly on live projects.
- Develop new concepts, including prototype development, performance testing and final implementations.
- Assist in the processing phase to ensure that all customer requirements and specifications are met in the early stages of a program.
- Follow up through the manufacturing phases to ensure that all challenges are met to prove out the function of the intended designs.
- Troubleshoot equipment at customer facilities when issues arise.
- Prepare technical calculations, 3D CAD, FEA, and similar as required to support active projects.
- Provide technical support on projects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review applications as a complete system, including mechanical, controls, manufacturing, operation and maintenance.
- Develop application standards, best practices, and technical documentation for projects.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: In machine design, product development, and performance testing for custom tools, machines and assembly systems. Practical knowledge in machining, welding and assembly, fabrication, testing and experimentation.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Strength of Materials, Statics, and Dynamics.
- Knowledge of leak test machine design and instrumentation, including Pressure Decay, Differential Pressure, and Mass Airflow.
- Understanding of kinematics, motion profiles, motor/servo sizing, gearbox selection, servo presses, control theory, and motion of moving bodies.
- Background in project engineering or project management is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong safety focus.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with automation, PLC’s, robotics, sensing and control technologies and vision systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

The expected annual compensation for this position is $85,000.00 – $95,000.00. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location.
