Join Our Team in Application Engineering!

Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is looking for a dynamic person to fill an Application Engineering role in our Automation and Assembly division. If you’re passionate about crafting cutting‑edge technology solutions and want to contribute to the development of customized equipment, including Battery Tray Assembly and Battery Assembly and Test Systems, Leak Test Equipment, Industrial Parts Washers, and Material Handling Automation, then this opportunity is for you!

What You Will Get To Do
  • Prepare and perform design of experiments, performance and validation testing for the Engineering team, including customer requests, design improvements and field‑related issues that require improvements.
  • Engineering testing activities while working directly on live projects.
  • Develop new concepts, including prototype development, performance testing and final implementations.
  • Assist in the processing phase to ensure that all customer requirements and specifications are met in the early stages of a program.
  • Follow up through the manufacturing phases to ensure that all challenges are met to prove out the function of the intended designs.
  • Troubleshoot equipment at customer facilities when issues arise.
  • Prepare technical calculations, 3D CAD, FEA, and similar as required to support active projects.
  • Provide technical support on projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review applications as a complete system, including mechanical, controls, manufacturing, operation and maintenance.
  • Develop application standards, best practices, and technical documentation for projects.
What We Are Looking For
  • Experience: In machine design, product development, and performance testing for custom tools, machines and assembly systems. Practical knowledge in machining, welding and assembly, fabrication, testing and experimentation.
  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
    • Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Strength of Materials, Statics, and Dynamics.
    • Knowledge of leak test machine design and instrumentation, including Pressure Decay, Differential Pressure, and Mass Airflow.
    • Understanding of kinematics, motion profiles, motor/servo sizing, gearbox selection, servo presses, control theory, and motion of moving bodies.
    • Background in project engineering or project management is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong safety focus.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Familiarity with automation, PLC’s, robotics, sensing and control technologies and vision systems.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

The expected annual compensation for this position is $85,000.00 – $95,000.00. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location.
