Position Overview:
The Aircraft Fueling Services Operator will work as part of a team to provide excellent service and stakeholder satisfaction by safely and efficiently fueling and defueling aircraft, ensuring safety for all involved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute work assignments, handle problems according to instructions, policies, training, or company procedures
- Maintain all equipment, tools, and materials in good condition, clean, and stored properly
- Conduct daily vehicle walk-around inspections, fuel testing, and recordkeeping using appropriate checklists
- Calculate fuel distribution for various aircraft
- Perform minor maintenance on vehicles and equipment, reporting repairs immediately
Note: Must obtain and maintain applicable Transport Canada Security Clearances, including Restricted Area Identity Card and Airside Vehicle Operators Permit.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Availability and flexibility to work 12-hour shifts, including days, overnights, weekends, and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license meeting insurance standards
- TDG and WHMIS certifications are assets
- Completion of all required training
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Effective communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking
- Ability to interpret safety and operational documents
- Mathematical skills for measurements, calculations, and conversions
- Mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools
- Teamwork and positive attitude
- Self-motivated with good prioritization skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt to support company growth and customer needs
The role involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and noise. Flexibility to work outside normal hours is required to meet operational needs.
Physical Demands:
- Must be physically fit to perform all operational duties
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to climb 15-foot heights
- Extended standing, sitting, bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, and manual dexterity required
- Work in confined spaces and outdoors as necessary
- Wear PPE and maintain mobility in high-risk environments
- Clear speech and hearing capabilities
- Visual acuity including color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Ability to connect hoses, operate valves, and perform general labor tasks
