The Role

Our Accounts Payable Associate will support the accurate and timely operation of the Finance and Accounting function by processing payables with a high degree of accuracy under strict deadlines. Effective communication with peers, managers and external parties is critical. This is a part-time role, working from our head office 2-3 days per week. This is a temporary 6-month contract position with potential of extension.

This role is located at our Vancouver, BC head office. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all incoming invoices, including processing and reconciliation, verifying rates / supporting documentation and obtaining approvals
  • Entry of invoices into our accounting system in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate with external vendors and internal departments to resolve any issues or discrepancies found during invoice verification process
  • Analyze and reconcile vendor statements, resolving any outstanding payment issues
  • Prepare expense reports for executive team members
  • Complete ad hoc special assignments and projects as required
What you bring
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable communicating professionally face to face, over the phone and email
  • High proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel (ability to effectively prepare and use pivot tables and formulas)
  • An accounting degree / certificate or similar work experience
  • Experience with Sage 300 is an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills is essential
  • An understanding of proper document management
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Takes pride in quality of work output and keen to continually grow within the role
  • Ability to take ownership over responsibilities but comfortable asking questions when unsure
  • Team player who demonstrates a willingness to support the needs of the business
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Compensation
  • The pay range for this position is $19 3 25 per hour. The successful candidates starting pay rate will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.
