Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail-oriented and experienced Accounting & Controlling Assistant to join our client's Controlling Department. In this key finance role, you will be responsible for managing the full-cycle AP/AR processes, vehicle deal postings, reconciliations, and supporting month-end activities.   • Pay Rate: $60k/year - $70k/year (based on experience)
  • Location: North York, ON
  • Shift: Monday to Friday | 9 am to 5 pm| full time in office
  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full AP and AR functions for the Controlling Department.
  • Prepare and process accounts payable reports, cheques, and bank deposits daily.
  • Maintain accurate and reconciled petty cash and company credit card systems.
  • Monitor cash and credit card clearing accounts and process charge account payments.
  • Distribute all invoices to relevant departments for review and authorization.
  • Post all New and Pre-Owned vehicle deals and coordinate with sales managers to ensure transactions are completed within month-end cut-offs.
  • Post dealer trade deals, aftermarket sales, and miscellaneous transactions.
  • Post factory-ordered vehicle inventory and funding details.
  • Perform month-end inventory reporting, account analysis, and closing activities.
  • Prepare wire transfer requests and update cheque registers.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, AR, AP, manufacturer statements, and floor plans.
  • Maintain and review the demo depreciation schedule.
  • Ensure all accounts are in good standing before and after month-end close.
  • Prepare ad-hoc account analyses and assist with RICS audits and compliance reporting
  • Collaborate and cross-train with colleagues to provide coverage when needed.
  • Promote a positive, efficient, and compliant work environment.
  • Support continuous process improvement and financial accuracy initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry is required.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and strong computer literacy (MS Office, accounting systems).
  • Excellent numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, trustworthy, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
