Position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Accounting Clerk to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day accounting functions, including payroll processing, accounts payable and receivable, and financial recordkeeping. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and a solid understanding of payroll procedures and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance in processing and preparing payroll for employees.
  • Assist in verifying timesheets, hours worked, and overtime calculations.
  • Ensure accuracy of payroll deductions (taxes, benefits, garnishments, etc.).
  • Maintain employee payroll records and update information as needed.
  • Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) and year-end tax documents (e.g., T4s).
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment standards and payroll legislation.
  • Record and post daily financial transactions (accounts payable and receivable).
  • Match invoices, purchase orders, and receipts for payment processing.
  • Prepare and process vendor payments and employee reimbursements.
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
  • Support preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2 – 5 years of experience in accounting and payroll.
  • Working knowledge of accounting software (Quickbooks Online, Desjardin EmployerD).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial payroll legislation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean abstract.
  • Bilingual – French and English considered an asset.
