Adecco is currently hiring a full-time detail-driven and strategic Senior Accountant to join our client's growing grain and commodities team in Regina, SK. In this role, you'll be at the financial heart of their operations overseeing grain procurement, storage, processing, and sales while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all reporting functions. Responsibilities
- Manage and report all financial transactions related to grain procurement, storage, processing, and sales
- Prepare and submit Canadian Grain Commission monthly reports
- Maintain accurate records of grain purchases, sales, inventory, and settlements with producers and customers
- Reconcile inventory movements and positions in accounting and grain management software
- Prepare and process invoices, accounts payable / receivable, and grain delivery settlements
- Monitor contract fulfillment, pricing, and payment terms for producers and buyers
- Support monthly and year-end financial closings, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for grain operations
- Prepare reports for management, auditors, and regulatory bodies (e.g., Canadian Grain Commission)
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant agricultural regulations
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, and trading teams to resolve discrepancies and support business processes
- Participate in quarterly inventory audits and physical counts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Agribusiness, or related field
- CPA designation or current enrollment in the CPA program is an asset
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in agriculture, commodities, or the grain industry
- Strong knowledge of cost and inventory accounting, commodity settlement processes, and tax compliance
- Proficiency with accounting systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) and grain management software (e.g., ProSoft)
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner across diverse teams
- Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
