Role Overview:

We’re searching for a skilled finance professional to join us for a one-year term. In this role, you’ll contribute to performance audits of municipal programs and processes, working alongside a dynamic team. Daily tasks mirror those of a junior auditor in a public practice firm, including planning, gathering evidence, analyzing data, and helping draft findings and recommendations.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze accounting and operating procedures and initiate improvements.
  • Review, advise, and participate in the day‑to‑day processing of financial records.
  • Train and advise other staff and customers on accounting functions, policies and procedures.
  • Provide special project accounting services requiring coordination with other departments and agencies, including grants and recoveries.
  • Prepare complex reconciliations on sub‑ledgers and account balances.
  • Direct the work of other financial services staff.
  • Review and analyze various financial reports and initiate corrective action.
