  • Support other duties as assigned.
  • Assist in standardization of client working papers.
  • Represent SRS in the business community.

Job description

Strategic Risk Solutions Inc (SRS), the world’s largest independent insurance company manager, is growing and looking for an accounting professional to join its servicing team.

The successful candidates will have a CPA (or equivalent) and will work in a team to manage the financial and regulatory affairs of a portfolio of captive insurance companies. This position will be based out of Halifax, NS with SRS Managers (Canada) Limited and will be predominantly remote.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Prepare or peer review financial statements
  • Oversee annual audit process
  • Monitor liquidity needs and manage each client’s cash position
  • Process and oversee payments
  • Ensure compliance of investments with Board-approved Investment Policy
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with clients, service providers and regulators
  • Oversight of insurance and reinsurance documentation
  • Issue notices of meetings (shareholders, directors, committees), prepare board packages, attend meetings (virtually or in-person) and draft minutes
  • Develop client relationships to grow into being the key contact coordinating input from all service providers and the client
  • Support Account Executives, Directors and Managing Directors on any additional duties as assigned
  • Assist in the standardization of client working papers to increase operational efficiencies
  • Represent SRS professionally within the local business community.
Attributes and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Business
  • Professional accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACA, or ACCA)
  • 3–5 years of financial accounting experience
  • Knowledge of Cayman captive insurance industry, beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Excellent analytical, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Proven client service skills and ability to work independently or in a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
