A leading pediatric rehabilitation hospital in Toronto is seeking a Summer Student Researcher for a unique 12-week program aimed at studying neurodevelopmental differences. The position involves assisting with research projects, data gathering, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Ideal candidates are 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate students with a background in research methods, genetics, or statistics. This full-time position offers competitive pay at $17.60/hr and requires at least three days of onsite attendance weekly.

The Ward Summer Student Research program provides an opportunity to experience a unique interdisciplinary mentorship experience. Successful incumbents will have opportunities to work with their mentor on a research project, attend our team lab meetings, and participate in the annual Ward Summer Student Research Day where they will have an opportunity to present their findings to the organization and its visitors.
The student will have the opportunity to contribute to various projects over the summer related to the clinical care of children with rare genetic conditions. The student's role will involve assisting with a chart review study from a clinical program, and conducting literature reviews about care guidelines and emerging therapies for the rare conditions identified. The student will gain practical experience working with interdisciplinary team members to learn about child development, genetics, and mental health, gaining a repertoire of basic clinical and research skills.
The program runs for 12 weeks from May 4, 2026– July 24, 2026. Students will be paid $17.60 per hour based on a 37.5 hour week (full-time), less statutory deductions, including 4% in lieu of vacation and relevant statutory holiday pay. Students will be paid biweekly through payroll.
