Job Description

Join RBC this summer to become part of our sustainability impact! As an analyst, you’ll support two dynamic teams: First, advance our Sustainability Performance & Data agenda by exploring available data, ensuring data pull integrity, and building metrics to enable performance management. Second, contribute to a large-scale overhaul of our grant management platform in Community Investment Operations, where you’ll streamline processes, mitigate risks, and enhance operational efficiency.

What will you do?

You will be supporting two teams within the Sustainability & Impact group:

For Sustainability Performance & Data:
  • Familiarize yourself with business definitions of key sustainability metrics and RBC’s database structure
  • Collaborate with business partners (e.g. data owners, analysts) to translate business requirements into technical specifications (e.g. identifying data fields, tables, joins, and calculations)
  • Develop and test code to automate data extraction, ensuring accuracy and reliability through iterative processes and data reconciliation with business partners
  • Ad-hoc trend analysis and generate insights to support data-driven decision-making and identify business opportunities
  • Document processes and methodologies to maintain data governance and enable knowledge transfer
For Community Investment Operations:
  • Assist with process design and documentation for a large-scale overhaul of RBC’s grant management platform
  • Provide analytical support in simplifying and enhancing existing system flows/processes, to improve reliability, accuracy and mitigate risks
  • Provide ad hoc support and data analysis as needed
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Critical thinker with strong logic to stay course solving complex problems
  • Technical skills & experience with accessing, manipulating, and analyzing data using languages and tools like Python, SAS, SQL, Tableau, etc.
  • Teamwork, collaboration, and co-operation is a requirement
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with a high level of technical proficiency, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize and execute on multiple tasks as well as adjust to changing priorities
Nice-to-have
  • Experience working with data in relational databases
  • Project management experience
