Job summary

Custodian (Casual – Daily Occasional)

Hours of Work: Call‑in basis, Monday‑Friday (typically afternoon shift), summer hours (July and August, typically transition to day shift).

Rate of Pay: $23.09 per hour + 4% vacation pay, as of September 1 2025.

Start Date: As soon as possible.

Typical Custodian Duties

• Change lights.
• Shovel snow and operate snow blower.
• Clean and inspect roof.
• Operate grass cutting equipment.
• Perform minor repairs.
• Conduct health and safety checks.
• Service rooftop unit.

Building Cleaning

• Operate and maintain all equipment.
• Perform all minor and major cleaning.

Requirements/Education

• Minimum grade 12 diploma or GED equivalent.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding.
• Mechanical aptitude with experience in one or more trade disciplines (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
• Exemplary interpersonal, professional and organizational skills.
• Ability to use a computer (e.g., Google Suite, Smart Find).
• Experience handling machinery (e.g., buffing machine, lawn mowers, snow blowers).
• Knowledge of proper usage of hazardous chemicals and cleaning supplies.
