Role Summary

Field Applications Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to customers, ensuring optimal use of Leica Biosystems' anatomical pathology solutions.

This role delivers hands‑on training, validates equipment and protocols, troubleshoots complex issues, and maximizes customer satisfaction and workflow efficiency.

It also actively contributes to the team's scientific development.

This position reports to the Field Applications Manager and is part of the Services and Applications team located in São Paulo / Capital, working remotely to cover all regions of Brazil.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver hands‑on training and ensure proper usage and compliance of Leica Biosystems equipment and products.
  • Support customers in the validation, implementation, and optimization of equipment and staining protocols in anatomical pathology laboratories.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, investigate root causes, and provide effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—including Sales, Field Service Engineers, Marketing, Regulatory / Quality Affairs, and Contracts / Tenders—to provide technical expertise and support business objectives.
  • Lead workflow optimization projects and travel extensively across Brazil to analyze laboratory processes, recommend improvements, and adapt to dynamic client environments.
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Biology, Biomedicine, or a related field.
  • Desirable: Postgraduate degree, Master's degree, or PhD degree.
Experience
  • Robust professional experience in Field Applications focused on Anatomical Pathology, including technical support, training, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in workflow optimization or process improvement in anatomical pathology laboratories.
  • Experience managing key account customers.
Language Requirements
  • Advanced English proficiency (required for international training and global team interactions).
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical / Environment Requirements
  • Ability for travel % of the time, overnight, throughout Brazil.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must have a valid passport and USA visa for international training.
Preferred Additional Experience
  • Experience in developing technical‑scientific skills within Application teams.
  • Spanish language proficiency.
