Description
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with a strong software development background to join our infrastructure team. This is a hands-on role where you will primarily focus on infrastructure engineering (80% of your time), designing scalable architectures, debugging complex Kubernetes issues, and optimizing our cloud platform. You will also use your development skills to contribute to AI initiatives and backend projects (20% of your time). You\'ll work with a modern tech stack that includes Terraform, GCP, and Kubernetes to build and maintain production-grade infrastructure that supports our growing platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects aligned with team and company goals.
- Debug complex Kubernetes cluster issues and optimize container orchestration to enhance performance and quality.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Atlantis workflows, setting a standard for others on the team.
- Build automation tools and scripts using Python, Go, and Bash.
- Scale infrastructure to meet growing demand and performance requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and other engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.
- Mentor peers through pairing, feedback, and knowledge sharing to support their technical and professional growth.
- Contribute to a healthy, inclusive team culture by role-modeling company values and building strong working relationships.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Professional experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and advanced cloud services.
- Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Terraform for building scalable, maintainable infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration patterns, and experience managing applications with Docker and Helm.
- Experience working with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., ELK stack).
- Familiarity with automated testing approaches and a strong understanding of system performance, scalability, and technical debt.
- Comfortable leading discussions around technical trade-offs and design decisions.
- Strong collaborator who can work effectively with other engineers and product managers to deliver solutions that align with business goals.
- Able to mentor peers through code reviews, pairing, and informal guidance.
- Proactive, ownership-driven approach to delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions.
