Senior Mainframe L3 Production Support Engineer

Job Summary
Long‑term contract. Experienced working in production / application support projects following ITIL best practices. Candidate should have a wide range of experience and expertise and can take ownership while working closely with the client team to move forward.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Ability to follow established Standard Operating Procedures in Production and collaborate with any teams to resolve Production issues as needed.
- Experience in using Microsoft Excel for data comparisons & manipulation, MS Word for documentation.
- Commitment to clear and timely communication with all stakeholders—including Clients, Client Service Managers, Business Analysts, IT Operations, Dev/Engineering team.
- Document bottlenecks and other issues in current Production for Engineering team to review and potentially provide long‑term solutions.
- Commitment to meeting tight Production turnaround SLAs, from receiving client data to completing processing and making output available in target systems and to target stakeholders.
- Good understanding of different Business processes such as Supply Chain, Finance, Order Management, Receiving, etc.
- Experience working in Service‑Now Incident, Requests, Problem Management and Azure DevOps.
- Expertise in understanding and writing complex DB2 queries and knowledge of database concepts.
- Ability to understand Cobol script code and familiarity with Azure DevOps basics.
- Excellent communication and user interaction skills.
- Technical skills: JAVA, Ext JS, Cobol, Mainframe, DB2, JCL, VSAM, GitHub.
- Service‑Now reports and Dashboard creation skills.
- Documentation skills using platforms such as Confluence, Service‑Now, Word, etc.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
