Role Definition:

Leads and manages dealers’ relationships to market company products and services and assists in the development of dealer sales capability.

What will you do:

The Industry Sales Representative is the primary sales point of contact between dealers, customers and other areas of Caterpillar. The main challenges of the role include developing and meeting expectations in delivering results, aligning goals and commitments, identifying, and recommending alternative courses of action and making assertive decisions. The main functions of the position include:

  • Assist dealers in business planning, forecasting, and executing machine sales, attachments and work tools, in addition to promoting other services/solutions such as maintenance contracts, extended warranties, financing options, among others.
  • Create and promote programs, events and campaigns that increase sales while maximizing price realization.
  • Analyze and recommend product configurations and applications that provide the best solution for customers.
  • Support the development and launch of new products or new market introductions.
  • Provide guidance on service issues to existing customers and potential improvement measures.
Skills:

Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions.

Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgement.

Effective Communications: Understanding effective communication concepts, tools and techniques, ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

Basic requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous experience working with Dealers in Marketing/Sales
  • Pre Advanced English
  • Basic Spanish
Top Candidates will also have:
  • 5+ years in previous commercial roles involving dealer and/or customer facing interactions
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products and applications
  • Strong drive and organizational capabilities Experience with Cat Dealers and customers.
  • Intermediate Spanish, Advanced English
Additional Information:
  • Ability to travel extensively within territory: up to 60%

Note: This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week.
